With the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic, the demand for testing surged. While antigen tests became widely available, many guidelines still required medical oversight for test results to be accepted. Our existing model, which relied on live sessions with medical professionals, could not meet the rapidly increasing demand. We needed a solution that allowed for high-frequency, flexible testing without compromising the integrity and reliability of results.

At WorldBacktoWork, I led the development and implementation of an Asynchronous Testing Platform to address the growing need for flexible, high-volume COVID-19 testing. This innovative solution enabled users to test as frequently as needed, anytime and anywhere, while ensuring compliance with guidelines requiring medical oversight. Launched in Fall 2022, the platform significantly increased our testing capacity and provided a scalable solution for clients worldwide.

We developed the Asynchronous Testing Platform to meet these challenges. The platform allowed users to order tests to their address whenever needed, and enabled client administrators to bulk order tests for larger groups. Key features included:
User Flexibility: Patients could test without a live medical professional, following specific screen instructions while being recorded. The recordings were reviewed by a medical professional within an hour, and results were delivered through our Total Safety platform.
High Volume Processing: The platform enabled us to process up to 10,000 tests per hour using a network of medical professionals, significantly increasing our testing throughput.
Additional Capabilities: Clients could order PPE and testing supplies, and the platform provided real-time shipment tracking, customized notifications, and easy patient processing.
